Goodreads Synopsis:

Hopeless romantic Ivy Rhodes and anti-Cupid Bennett Westcott
request the pleasure of your company for their disaster of a courtship
Wedding planner Ivy Rhodes is the best in the business, and she's not about to let a personal problem stop her from getting ahead. So when she's asked to star in the reality TV show Planning for Love, it doesn't matter that the show's videographer happens to be a recent—and heartbreaking—one-night stand.
Bennett Westcott admits he didn't handle his encounter with Ivy very well. But looking at her beautiful smile—and great body—through a camera lens every day? He can't be faulted for suggesting they have some no-strings fun.
The more time they spend together, the more Ben realizes Ivy isn't the wedding-crazed bridezilla he'd imagined. But if he doesn't trust himself to make a relationship last, how can he convince Ivy to give him another chance?

Review:

After reading a lot of YA lately it is a nice change to read  Chick lit. The cover of this book was really girly and pretty and it felt light, that and both the synopsis and title sounded very fun so I decided to read this!

Ivy and Bennett meet for the first time as they work a wedding together, Ivy trying to make it the most romantic event for the spouses, and Ben trying to catch any embarrassing and shot-worthy moments of it. It becomes clear to both of them that they have an electric attraction. But, no matter how well they fit in that department, their views on relationships and love are completely the opposite, to an extent that cannot be ignored. They both go their separate ways until Ivy is offered an on-screen role as the 'perfect wedding planner' on a show called Planning for Love. To her dismay, this throws her back to working with Bennett again and no matter their electric attraction, they both fight it because their relationship views are deadly different.

This book reminded me so much of the movie Twenty-Seven dresses, and Meg Cabot's Every Boy's Got One. Not to an extent that they're the exact same but a definite take on relationships I found humorous. That movie is one of my favourites, as well as Meg Cabot's book! So Planning for Love was such a fun read for me.  I've been reading a lot of demon-infested books lately, ones with vampires, zombies and other mythical creatures, so it was great catching a break from all of that with an enjoyable romantic comedy, letting loose and reading it made me think of beautiful spring days.

The characters were all great! I loved Ivy and her 'plans', I loved how she was such a hopeless romantic always seeing the good in things and optimistic about all the weddings she was to work. I think it's a very healthy take on life and I want to be like her, more optimistic and a hopeless romantic. Ben, being the exact opposite was a bit depressing with his views and takes on life, though he was still very charismatic and funny when he needed to be. I like how he evolved in the book and learned to make a home for him in Chicago even though he hadn't known he was actually doing it at the time. They were very compatible in many ways and not so much in others, but that's what was so perfect about them. I loved the parts where they were together as much as the parts where they were with their friends.

This book was such a light fluffy read, the writing was quite witty and fun and it wasn't so complicated - which was exactly was I  needed really - and I found myself finishing the book before I even knew it! Such a great read!

Rating: 4/5
