Hey guys!

For some reason I feel like I've been rather off with this blog lately, ever since the last giveaway, do you agree? No? Oh well, then it's just me. So , I decided to make this post as some sort of general update, for there are quite a few things that have been happening lately, I thought to share them with you guys:

1- Aliendoodles has officially become my blog's youtube channel.

I used to use my youtube channel here mainly to teach Arabic, but I think I was too fast paced or something so I stopped with the videos and decided to work at a slower pace here.
So yeah, if you guys have a youtube channel, leave a link in the comments below and I'd be happy to check it out, you can also check mines out and tell me how I am doing so far - I am new to the whole vlogging thing.

2- I joined NaNoWriMo.

If you don't know what it's about you can click here for more info. It's actually very new to me and I've only heard of it through Jesse @ Jessethereader's channel on youtube. He had a video explaining it, so you can click on the link to see more on it.

I am not sure if many of you know, but I love to write. Or more like loved to write. But I always get easily distracted and end up with more unfinished projects than anything else. I have a lot of incomplete ideas. No really, if you don't believe me you can ask Megan @ The Book Babe. We've had lengthy discussions on that topic. So I thought NaNoWriMo would help me actually complete one of the books that never seem to end. Megan suggested one of the books I have mentioned to her to join with. I am going with that for now, though I am not sure, I might change my mind by the time it's November - we'll see.

If any of you decide to join NaNoWriMo or are joining it anyway, do tell me and ADD ME, I hear it makes all the difference to have writing buddies and I'd love more than nothing to help as well as get help.

3- I joined a new MEME

You know how I am always confused about Saturday memes? Well, I found one I thought really interesting, and even though it's still starting, I don't care, I'm enjoying it and it gives me an excuse to make more videos! It's called " ON THE SHELF" and it's hosted by Melissa Frye @Invincible Love of Reading

Here's the video:

4- Update On My Review Pile Cleanup:

So as you guys know I had around 12 books in that pile right? *Goes to check* yup 12 books. What was I thinking?! I mean, it wasn't even 12 books from the start of the month was it? It was twelve books three weeks into October! I am insane. Guys, friends don't let other friends do stuff like this ok? So yeah. I had six books left with that, but one of them I was planning not to read anyway because it was the second in the series and I didn't have the first, and well, it didn't sound so good.

So books left:

Refuge - Carole Rummage
Fade - A.K Morgen
Magic in His Kiss - Shari Anton

The Perfect Clone - M.L. Stephens
Dead Perfect - P.G. Shriver

The last two books I actually need to have read before going to bed today because they're for book tours and my stop is tomorrow *yes I accidentally over planned it* Hopefully If I manage to read a book and a half tomorrow and another book and a half the day after that I'd have completed my Review Pile Clean up this month.
Did I mention I am completely done with the ARR program books?! YES I AM! Meaning one less sticky note on my background making me feel guilty! There are - of course - around four more sticky notes (you should see the NetGalley one, it's huge) of books I need to read for review. But yeah, I can do it. November is going to be super-busy though.
I'll probably set up the new Review Pile Clean Up by next Thursday for the books I want to have read in November.  Man am I going to be busy.

5- Giveaways

Last but not least, the winners for the giveaway hops I've participated in this month have been chosen and notified.
Happily Ever After Giveaway - Kar Achondo
Jane Austen Giveaway - Chelsea Knestrick

Congrats you guys, both books were dispatched and should be reaching you soon! I even did a trial run to see if it worked by sending a book to a friend (as a sort of belated birthday gift) and she received it a few days ago, so yeah, I hope your books arrive soon.

Now, don't fret you guys, I'll be joining two more of those giveaway hops - I kind of enjoyed them to be honest - for both December & January. I know that sort of leaves November without anything, but I am pretty sure I am hosting a giveaway on one of my book tour stops that month.

So yes, that is all you guys. What's new with you?

  1. I'm doing Nano this year too! I always want to do it, and I will get an outline and such done and ready and then November ends up being awful and time slips away. November is just the worst month for Nano for me. I am determined to win this year though. I added you as a buddy!

    1. Woohoo! I have added you back.
We should totally work on it together, it's my first time trying it out and I am not sure how I am going to balance it with Uni and other stuff. But I'll do all I can!
